Today we headed on over to the
  • Shadow Art Fair
  • at the Corner Brewery in Ypsilanti. It was really great to see how many people came out. We were there for atleast a couple hours with an unending crowd rolling in and out. There were 30 vendors in all, and I thought all the stuff was great. I had no idea there were so many great local artists. We got the girls t-shirts from
  • Feather Weight Goods

  • and adorable chokers from
  • Pixelgirlshop.com

  • chloe
There were also really adorable dolls called Lullaboos made by this womam, Margaret. They are made of socks and are the softest, cutest things. I really loved the little pockets on the back, and the faces were so sweet.

  • Cheers to Jennifer at

  • and Mark Maynard

  • for organizing the fair (perhaps there are more people, but I'm not sure who they are)....we had a great time. the kids made out like bandits, i didn't even have a chance to grab a beer.
    I almost forgot, Molly Mast,
  • www.mollymast.com
  • I loved her stuff. cute designes and adorable shirts, my oh my.
    AND
  • www.lekkner.com
  • was there making t-shirts on the spot. Her patterns are really cool, what a great idea. i'm at a loss for adjectives.
    next up is the

  • I've never been, but there was a table at the Shadow fair set up with some of the vendors with some cute stuff.
It would be really cool to participate in these fairs. Perhaps I'll be able to get myself some items going for next year. It was quite inspirational.

I bought a My Life In Ypsi comic book from Mark Maynard, a zine called Stupor from Steve Hughes, and a t-shirt from Ballistic Design that we gave to Matt for his birthday. I probably would have bought more, but I made Luka stay near me and he was hanging on me the whole time and got increasingly whinier and distracting. Next year, Gerry can watch the kids.

You should definitely get your own craft thing going for next year. You even have your own little craft room now, so what's stopping you?

Did you know that Steve Hughes is one-half the partnership that re-built my house? He lives Hamtramck, and my ex knew him all the way back in Hope College.

Well, I found you ! I've also put you on the blogroll. Don't be a stranger, eh?

No way! I met Steve Hughes a long time ago through my friend and former roommate Maria McLeod, who is also a writer. Steve and his partner remodeled our bathroom. I was thinking later that a woman was looking at me strangely at his table, and I thought later it was because she heard him greet me with "How's your bathroom?" And I told him "Great, we need another one!" I don't know, maybe that wasn't it. Maybe I just look strange.
